Tigawane House

Tigawane project is a project that cares for the street kids in Malawi; particularly in Balaka Town.The main objective is to create a family house, a safe corner for street kids and orphans in serious difficulties


The house is located in balaka town in the close proximity with the Catholic Women Organisation premises between Andiamo Youth Cooperative Trust and St.Louis Montfort Parish.


The project which is targeting disadvantaged kids between the ages of 3 to 15 years old
– homeless
– orphaned or those with no guardian who can provide proper care
– kids in need of temporal protection out of the family contest
– Those that has been recommended as underprivileged by legal institutions
– Whose parents are in Prison

Specific Objectives

– To prevent and protect the kids from indulging in possible and inevitable immoral acts
including for example robbery, prostitution, drug abuse etc.
– To monitor the relationship between the kids and their original families
– To help and facilitate the reinstatement of the kids in regular communities
